Kids grow up so fast these days. It’s an adage older than
everyone who says it. Yet, it remains true to this day. Kids are ever growing,
every changing. Most parents remember when they were changing diapers or
watching the little ones play space man or even roar and stomp around like
dinosaurs. In a blink of an eye it’s good bye cowboy hat and hello Xbox. Then
its cars, friends and eventually out the door. But there’s a time when younger
kids want to let their imagination run wild. There are parks, experiences and
rides specifically for this particular age bracket. This blog will cover some
of Florida’s best attractions for the little ones.

First, there’s the Museum of Science and Industry in St.
Petersburg. They even have a section chiefly for those who are 12 and under.
It’s appropriately named Kids in Charge! It’s divided into two sections,
Slippery Science and Mission: Moon base. Slippery Science is a hockey based
array of different scientific experience. Kids can see what effect different
hockey shots have on a fully padded hockey player. They can also learn
about friction as they play on air hockey tables that have pucks of various
colors and sizes! They can even see themselves on the Jumbo-tron in a simulated
hockey area! Or they can play the role of goalie under fire as they try and
stop a lightning fast puck from going into the net. That’s all just one half of
the Kids in Charge! Experience in Mission: Moon base, children can go through
an astronaut training course that includes a moonwalk, full obstacle course,
EVAC slide and more. All of this depends on how tall the child is so be sure
and check out
the MOSI website for proper height qualifications!

Another great spot for children is Dinosaur World. Located
in Plant City Florida, Dinosaur offers hours of fun for little ones who love
the mythic thunder lizards. While people of all ages are welcome, there’s
nothing quite like seeing these built to size models from the eyes of a child.
They also offer archaeological fossil digs where kids can take home up to three
real souvenirs they find while on the dig. Whether there for a birthday party
or on a field trip with their friends or even just an outing with the family,
your child is sure to enjoy the roaring fun of Dinosaur World!

Lastly, the obvious choice for a child in Orlando is the
Wonderful World of Disney. From character meet and greets to Cars Land to the
Bibbity Bobbity Boutique, your child will have their head on a swivel there’s
so much for them to do. They are whom Walt envisioned his magical land for and
he has yet to disappoint. Be they a little prince or Princess Disney is definitely something every child should experience!
There is tons more for children to enjoy in the Sunshine
State. Petting live alligators in GatorLand, Petting Shamu’s tongue at Seaworld
or seeing the amazing animals in Busch Gardens, Tampa. There’s so much to
explore in Florida!
